Hopefully you will be noticing something different about my blog… It’s still focused on weight loss but I’d like to introduce food into the mix. Food is my biggest issue and if it isn’t grilled meat and salad, it’s a pizza! I needed to realise that I can still eat delicious food cheaply, whilst still being healthy.
I’m going to be using my phone for the pictures so I apologise in advance for the quality. I do have some very professional cameras but, for now, I will use my phone as I always have it with me.
I have looked on a couple of blogs for inspiration and, boy, did I find it! So much so that I have planned out the rest of my week! As I said, I’m doing Slimfast so the food I’m cooking will be for dinner only. I have 2 BBQs this weekend so I haven’t planned anything for then, although, I’d like to still be sensible!
Tuesday: Chicken Rice
Wednesday: Pork with Ginger and Spring Onions
Thursday: Spaghetti with Prawns and Garlic
Friday: Pasta with Tomato and Garlic
All of these dishes are under 600 cals so hopefully I can lose weight while eating yumminess!
I guess it helps that we went to Costco a while back so have plenty of meat in the freezer – just means that we have a lot more to hand!

… at updating my blog! I have been a little busy though because I’ve been doing my hair over the last couple of days (really).
My week has been very good so far though. I’ve been having my usual crispbread snack and I’ve taken a liking to sliced apples and grapes. Mmm…
However, I haven’t been following slim fast properly. I’m basically only eating when I’m hungry which I found isn’t all that often. Now I have a couple of fail safe snacks to keep me going.
Only thing… On Friday, I had a Chinese! I had boiled rice with curry sauce and prawn with mushrooms. Not too bad really. Okay, it’s two things! Tonight I went to the Harvester with my new pal. I started off well! I had a salad with a small wholemeal roll and then grilled chicken breast with baby new potatoes and grilled prawns. My downfall was a dessert of ice cream! Yup! Dagnabbit indeed!
You may or may not notice that it’s 4.30ish – IN THE MORNING! Yes, that’s because I couldn’t sleep and then at 2am, I found myself driving to the gym! I KNOW! Mine is 24 hours which was useful tonight! Considering I haven’t been to the gym since April it’s quite impressive.I was in there for over an hour and didn’t hang about so I’m quite proud of myself. I think I should do it more often! Except for walking through the dark and scary shopping centre with drunkards wandering around, it was pretty cool to have the whole top floor to myself. No more looking like the loser who is unfit and doesn’t know what they’re doing. Okay I still looked like that but no one could see me! I actually felt a lot more confidant!
I guess I really should get some sleep! I still have to finish my hair tomorrow (yes, really).
I promise that I will update this more often! Please don’t desert me! Mmm… dessert… I want to be able to look back when I’m fit and skinny and see what I loser I was… Oh but to dream! I also need to find the cable for my phone so I can add pictures to entertain y’all!
Night!!

I weighed myself this morning and I’m 185.6lbs. If I could get down to 171lbs for my holiday I will be super happy. I have 3 weeks and 4 days to do it so I’m hoping that I can! If I can get a big first week loss I’d be grateful. In fact, if I could get under 180lbs I’d be really happy but I’d be even happier with under 170lbs! Okay, that’s probably a bit optimistic but a girl’s gotta dream! I’d have to lose 16lbs. Maybe I can do it? I really hope I do because I do really well on this diet. I’m not entirely sure why I tried anything else because I have been the most succesful with Slim Fast.
I had my first shake quite late and had it at about 12.30. Pretty much straight after that I had my first snack of the day. I had 2 crispbreads spread with one mini pot of extra light soft cheese with 3 slices of cucumber on each. This was a very yummy and light snack. The total calories for all of this was about 80 calories.
I had my second shake at around 3pm and had my second snack – I had the same again! I really do like the taste!
For dinner, I had steak with boiled cabbage. Okay, not the tastiest sounding thing but it was lovely!
I’m hoping that I lose weight. I’m worried that I ate too much but I don’t think I did. I think I will do a Wednesday weigh in just to settle myself!
I disappeared for a while but I’m back!
I’ve decided to stop Cambridge Sole Source for a while so I don’t feel so deprived! I did manage to lose close to 20lbs though which is awesome!
For now until my holiday (less than 4 weeks) I’m going to be doing a mixture of Slimfast and Cambridge. I’ll follow the Slimfast diet normally but other days I will have 2 Cambridge meals and a healthy dinner. My OH actually suggested I do this because he knows how well Slimfast has worked for me before!
The good news is that it means I can upload pictures of my dinners and snacks which should make for a more interesting read!
Another good thing is that, although I’ve been over a week off plan, this morning I was the same weight I was when I stopped Sole Source! That makes me really happy but I have been making sensible choices.
I’d love to lose a stone before I go away. I have less than 4 weeks but, hopefully, my metabolism has been reset so I will get my big loss after the first week. I’d also like to incorporate a bit of exercise too (mostly dancing) to help shed the inches.
I had a great day yesterday because I met up with someone I talk to a lot on Minimins. She was absolutely lovely and it was nice to talk to someone who actually understands what I’m going through. We had a great time and we were talking about recipes and different plans to follow. We’ve planned to go for a meal on Saturday which will be cool. Also, we’re going to the Harvester – They are the first UK wide restaurant chain to put the calories of everything on their menu. That makes it a lot easier for me!
So, the new diet officially starts tomorrow so I will update you all with my starting (again) weight!

Well, I had my day off yesterday and I feel much better for it. I think I actually started off by giving myself food poisoning!! I had eggs benedict and after that I was not very well at all. I was so sick it was ridiculous. I’m pretty sure it was the hollandaise sauce that did it! It pretty much knocked me out until about 3pm when I decided to make myself some lunch.
I had a deep dish pizza which I made myself but I didn’t come close to eating it all. I was really really surprised! I enjoyed it a lot though. Later on I baked some scones so had 2 with clotted cream and jam – talk about yummy. I made 8 in total and my OH isn’t really a fan (I know) so I left the rest for my father in law as I knew he was coming over today. Later in the evening I had a small piece of steak which was uber yum and that was it for the day! I was still drinking my water loads and had 2 pints of orange squash.
All in all, I’m happy that I took that one day and now I am happy to carry on 100% back on plan. I had my official week 3 weigh in yesterday morning and I have dropped 5.2lbs! I’m so happy with that! I still don’t think I will reach my target of 25lbs in 4 weeks but I’m sure I will come pretty darn close to it! I’m also feeling like 40lbs should be somewhat achievable as I’m almost half way there. I’d like to lose another 5lbs this week which would leave me with about 16lbs to lose before my holiday.
I checked the scales again this morning and I actually lost .2lbs! I was half expecting to see around 4 or 5lbs but, i guess, with the puking, I got rid of a lot of that. I can only assume that my stomach has shrunk because I didn’t need a lot to get full.
So I think that 18.8lbs in 3 weeks is a pretty good loss and I’m actually starting to see it in my body. Other people are noticing too! I took my waist measurement and it is 32.5 inches.
I hope this continues!!

Hello everyone!!
Sorry I’ve been quiet for a while.
I’m still chugging along with the diet… 100% as per usual!
And… I finally went to the toilet!! It was prompted by the Dulcolax and it went on for a while. It didn’t make any change to my weight annoyingly.
Wait… this is even better! I went to the toilet this morning without any help!! It was actually solid!
I was sat on the toilet and actually shouted to my OH “I’m pooing”! I was so happy!
As far as the water is concerned, I’m finding it pretty easy drinking all of it. The day after I increased the water, I did notice a 2lb drop but I’ll have to wait until my official weigh in to give my opinion.
That’s all for now!

I bought some Dulcolax tonight so I’ll be taking it before bed. I just want it to act quickly because (I can’t believe I’m saying this) I can’t wait to poo!!
I made my OH a lovely dinner tonight. Poached salmon with a goats cheese & pine nut salad. According to him it was a 9/10. I was really jealous of this meal! I’m not sure how healthy it is though. Actually, I’m pretty sure that it is healthy (as part of a balanced diet) but probably not best for weight loss. All it had was salad leaves, peppers and pine nuts tossed in a bit of olive oil. Some chopped goats cheese and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar topped off the salad. The salmon was just plain. I guess the worst is in the olive oil, goats cheese and pine nuts.
Anyway, tomorrow, I’m doing healthy french toasts for brunch. My OH is starting to wonder what’s going on. I explained that I enjoy cooking so much that I wanted to try out a couple of recipes out on him. The recipes I’ve done have been my own, so I have been putting them in my recipe books. I just need to work out the exact quantities I need to use so I can find out the calories. I’m pretty sure that it should be under 600 cals.
After not seeing the scales move all week – they still haven’t moved! But at least I’m starting to be able to feel the difference. I have definitely notice it in my trousers and some of my shirts too. I’m hoping after I take these laxatives everything will go back to normal and I will get a good loss!
TTFN!

I know, I know, I’ve been gone for way too long!! My hubby came back on Tuesday and I’ve wanted to spend time with him.
Yesterday I was feeling so weak and dizzy that I went to sleep at about 8.30!
I’m back on track now! I said to OH that I would be using him as a guinea pig whilst I try out some recipes on him! Last night I made a Coconut, Lime and Ginger Prawn Curry! He said it was really nice and gave it an 8/10. I added sliced mange tout and he said that if it had some red bell peppers in it, it would have been 10/10! I made this recipe up so I’m glad it tasted nice. It’s not very healthy (coconut milk) but at least it’s something we can have every now and then!
I have a recipe book at home, but it’s one where you can write in your own recipes too. The curry will be going in there!
I’m still feeling tired but I’m sure the weekend will sort me out!
I’m happy to stick to this diet for as long as needed!! Well, I say happy… I mean okay! I’ve started to notice more differences in my body. My rings are getting looser and my trousers (which were a bit tight when I first bought them) are now too big! I need to get a pair with belt loops so I can add the amazing invention of a belt!!
I think I would be happy with a couple of pounds loss this week. I just really want to hit my July goal of 25lbs! I have 12.5lbs to lose so it’s not that much to lose in 3 weeks.
Anyway, that’s all for now…

I’ve started thinking (again) about how long I can really stand this diet for. I’m getting so bored and I really want to eat. I’ve been 100% still even though I’m cooking my special curry ready for when my OH comes back! I said that I will have to wait for him to come back to do the final seasoning because I won’t be able to taste it!!
I was thinking about cutting it down to 4 weeks. I’m not sure – I really want to set a date for completing this or a timeframe. I was thinking about seeing how it goes but I worry that I could one day just stop and then binge. I want time to prepare for the transition.
If I can lose the weight for my July goal, that would take me down to 180lbs. That would be 33lbs away from my overall goal. If I find that I am not getting the losses I want I will go back on it.
I think I have honestly decided. I know I said I was going to do this for 8 weeks but it’s so hard. I might just do a week off and take it from there.
Maybe I should set myself a lower overall goal for the Cambridge Diet? Maybe 30lbs? That would take me down to 175lbs.
I JUST DON’T KNOW!!
I just want to have a reasonable plan. I don’t think I could manage this for 8 whole weeks.
Anyone have any suggestions?

The results are in!! I lost an amazing 12.5lbs in my first week!! That means I have another 12.5 to lose for the July challenge, and 27.5lbs to lose before I can finish on Cambridge.
This result is much better than I expected… Yay!!
